Why the dollar would go up in the face of the swine flu outbreak in Mexico is beyond me, but that is exactly what happened.
Gold took a loss as the dollar strengthened against other currencies. Stocks on Wall Street wavered with pressure on the airlines and tourism related stocks, since people are rightly afraid of traveling and picking up the flu along the way.
In other news, GM has come up with a restructuring plan that will slask 21,000 jobs along with their Pontiac line.
