The days of silver as an investment vehicle may soon be over as the sharp rise in gold-to-silver value ratio showed that investors are not that interested in silver anymore.
The closely watched ratio is used to determine the relative value of silver as compared to gold. Silver is usually more liquid and its price tend to be more volatile than the other precious metals, so when it underperforms gold, the commodities sector is seen to follow suit.
