What is the difference between gold ETFs and gold funds?

In order to achieve the individual objectives of the investor, one must understand the difference in the choices available for investment in gold.~~

Gold ETFs, or Exchange Traded Funds, are schemes that have some features of both mutual funds and stocks. Here, the investor can purchase and sell units of these schemes on the stock exchange just like other stocks. The gold ETFs value tracks the price of gold, or is directly linked to the market price of gold.

Gold funds are separate from mutual funds and are equity oriented to the stock of companies listed on the stock exchange all over the world. This scheme is directly tied to the profits, gains or losses of the actual gold companies.
