City of Gold runs out of gold coins as demand for gold rises

In Dubai every year they hold the Dubai Shopping Festival. The World Gold Council (WCG) participates in the Festival every year.~~

This year, due to a shortage of gold coins, there weren't enough coins to satisfy the demand of the shoppers.

Everyone was asking for gold coins, but there simply were not enough.

Compounding the problem was the fact that all the gold coins must be certified by municipal authorities, but the department was closed during Eid-al-Adha, making even less coinage available.
