In a deal that is valued at about two hundred and thirty eight million Canadian dollars, Goldcorp has said that it is acquiring mining company Canplats Resources Corp.

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, is the gold producer, and on Monday it was said that ownership of Canplats' Camino Rojo project over in Mexico, would surely be assumed by them, as they expand their operations to this very location.

A new exploration company would be created with about ninety point one percent of it's shares being distributed to shareholders over at Canplats.
